Product Care

MONTES DOGGETT ceramics are dishwasher and microwave safe and meant to stand up to the rigors of everyday use.

The perfectly smooth glaze will not leave a trace of food. It is so durable that you can use special cleaning sponges and washing liquids.

Sometimes gray metal marks may appear on your dinnerware. This results from contact with metal cutlery and flatware. It is not a defect and is easily removed with a mild porcelain cleaner such as Bar Keepers Friend.

COOKWARE:

Dishwasher and microwave safe.

Our ceramic is safe in the oven up to 350°F. It is resistant to everyday shocks, however, should a crack appear after having been knocked, handle the dish with care as this crack may turn into a clean break.

When cooking, always keep liquid or sauce in the bottom of the dish, this will take up the heat and temperature changes not only gradually but instead of the ceramic itself. Avoid adding cold water to your hot dish (or vice versa), this violent thermal shock could break it. Add hot water instead.

Do not place dish directly over the heat. Montes Doggett ceramics cannot be used on a direct flame or electric ring.

Soak cookware for 20 minutes to loosen any burnt-on food.

COOKING TIMES:

The clay will store the heat before diffusing it to the food - the cooking time therefore has to be slightly longer than in a metallic mold (around 10 minutes longer). Once on the table, your dish will keep the heat long enough for you to serve and serve again.

Handle with care. Please use a oven mitt or pot holder to handle.

GOLD & PLATINUM ACCENT:

High Fired Porcelain at temperatures up to 2100 degrees, Montes Doggett uses 22k gold and pt78 platinum glazes in a process that can last as long as 3 weeks to produce.

The unusual variations of color and texture that can be created in each piece is intended. These variations include shine (matte or gloss), layering and when possible also shade.

Pieces with gold and platinum accents are not dishwasher or microwave safe.

WOOD:

SUAR is a fast-growing and easily replaceable tree. It is very popular outside of the tropics because it's crisscrossed, interlocking grain. The color of the wood varies greatly between the center and outer edges of the tree.

STONE & WOOD:

Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not soak.

Both stone and wood are natural materials. Please handle with care.

STAINLESS STEEL:

Our collection is hand-forged from a single ingot of hardened stainless steel, which has a high percentage of chrome for strength and to ensure durability.

Hand-wash only, avoid harsh or lemon based detergents. Do not leave soaking in water.
